Job Description:
The Retail Sales Attendant is responsible for generating revenue and sales transactions through excellent product knowledge and providing excellent customer service with prompt service, as well as maintaining a fun, clean, and comfortable store environment.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING, & WORK EXPERIENCEHigh school diploma or high school equivalent.
Six months experience in retail industry or customer service environment preferred.
Excellent cash handling.
Excellent communications skills.
Excellent organizational and time management, decision-making and planning skills.
Essential Functions:
Maintains positive guest satisfaction by answering questions thoroughly, handling complaints or directing them to a manager, and providing specific item suggestions and information about the resort.
Maintains high-level of knowledge regarding all products and communicates properly to guests; establishes rapport with all guests through name recognition.
Maintenance of retail item displays and notifies manager/supervisor of low inventory and recommends new inventory; communicates opportunities and concerns.
Maintains cleanliness including guest areas, counters, shelves, floors, and surrounding work areas by keeping the area wiped down, swept, mopped, dusted, and free from spills, trash, debris, etc.
Completes all opening, running side-work, and closing duties as assigned.
Practices proper cash handling procedures by addressing the point-of-sale system after every transaction, properly organizing money, counting change back to guests, and following appropriate checkout procedures.
MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:
To assist other departments as required.
Will perform additional duties as requested by leadership.
ENVIRONMENT:
Indoor, climate controlled with hard floors.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (as required by OSHA and ADA - US only):
Requires constant standing, walking, and reaching.
Requires frequent bending, pushing/pulling, and lifting/carrying of up to 30 lbs and occasional lifting/carrying of up to 50 lbs.
